Many of our site vistors have been following the saga of our attempts to buy the park from the landowners after their putting the park on the market then subsequently withdrawing it, last year.
Matters had been at an impasse since October 2008 but recent contacts between the Community Body and the landowner, Welch's Homes, have resulted in a degree of better understanding of both positions and indeed in some meaningful negotiations.
The owners are still not prepared to sell but the negotiations have centred round what could be achieved in community development under the present ownership arrangements. The negotiations involve delegation of an element of responsibility for the day to day operation of the Park to the Association and the Community Company and their undertaking certain maintenance and operational tasks on behalf of the owners.
The Association Committee have sanctioned a continuation of the negotiations including the landowner and solicitors for both parties in the hore of reaching a firm agreemnt on the way forward.
